How much of the suspected meteorite should you send?

The Nomenclature Committee of the Meteoritical Society has established the minimum quantity of material to be 20% or 20 g, whichever is less, which will be placed in a permanent repository for continued research. Classification and naming services by a particular lab may require a larger quantity of material. For more information related to a found meteorite click here.
